Whenever a student enters college, especially those who belong in a family that earns an average income, the sole thing that pressures them is the expensive amount needed for the education, which almost crushes them financially to the ground.

Money, is the established traditional excuse for the financially unprivileged students to fail in pursuing their college education, it has always been the issue, worn out by time.

However, this issue is by far resolved when the scholarship became accessible to the disadvantaged. Through scholarships, the expenses for college became easy for the students.

To most people, the term scholarship is likewise used up by time. But how far do we really understand the term “scholarship”?

It is a fact that for most students and parents the term scholarship can still be confusing. Whenever they hear the term, they directly associate it to free tuition and fees, students’ loans, and grants.

But knowing the exact process of scholarship could save you and your parents’ purse from too much drainage of money, most probably tens of thousands of dollars, as the scholarship takes charge of your education.

Basically, scholarship are monetary grants given by the state government, public and private institutions and organizations, college, institutions, charitable foundations, guilds and the like for educational use.

Additionally, scholarship is different from student loans, the scholarship gives off money without the condition of repaying it. While the student loans involve the agreement of repaying the borrowed money to supplement the students’ college educational expenses at a certain time, and with the corresponding interests.

The following are the list of available scholarships:

• National Merit Scholarship
• Athletic Scholarship
• Career, Professional, and Trade-Association-Sponsored Scholarships
• Academic Merit Scholarship
• FASFA
• Work Study
• Special Scholarships
• Ethnic and Religious Scholarship
• Alumni Legacy Scholarship
• Transfer Student Scholarship
• Community Organization Sponsored Scholarship

With all of these available scholarships it became quite perplexing for certain students to recognize the scholarship that would fit best their qualifications.

Most often the problem lies on the searching process, which scholarship to apply for, and where will they apply.

The most possible answer for this setback is basically to know the proper resources. There is the college scholarship search engine; you can access it for free in the internet. Through this, you will not just save your time and money; you can also get recent updates.

On the other hand, it is suggested that you read carefully the requirements, if you think you are fitted then you can proceed on your application, if you think you don’t, and then try to look for another. Remember, as you apply for more scholarships, there will be greater chances that you will be able to win a scholarship or more.

Furthermore, most of the scholarships are based on the academic performances of the students, the ability for attaining and maintaining high-grades. While some are based on the students’ artistic ability, excellence in sports, or awarded to the students who excel in a specific field.

The facts presented in this article can be sum up to a specific thing, once you know how to accumulate the information, the process on applying for a scholarship, and where your qualification suits, it will only be easier for you to attain financial aid throughout your college years.

This is a time of year when many people take stock of all that they are grateful for -- or at least when we should do so. But this should also be a time when we take stock of all those people who contributed to those gifts -- especially the intangible ones. This is a time of year when many people take stock of all that they are grateful for -- or at least when we should do so. But this should also be a time when we take stock of all those people who contributed to those gifts -- especially the intangible ones. Those gifts such as our self-esteem or confidence, our love of sports or music, and our spine. What person or group do you owe the greatest debt? Was there a special person or group that really helped you become the person you are today?

Was there someone who helped you believe in yourself and your ability? Was there someone who taught you to appreciate life in a new way? Was there just someone who was there so you could count on them no matter what?

Most of us have been fortunate to have not just one person but a whole team of teachers, coaches, and mentors who helped us grow and reach our potential. We should remember to thank those people again and again as we live the lives they helped us shape. Even more important we need to repay that debt -- not to those individuals but to society. How is your debt? Have you paid it yet or are you still pretending it doesn't exist?

We often hear the expression as it relates to criminals. It is sometimes used as a euphemism for incarceration. The truth is though that we all owe a debt to society. Not because we have done some harm to the community but instead because we have benefited from someone else doing good.

I am a Presbyterian and our expression of the Lord's Prayer includes the phrase "And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors". Obviously no matter how good we are and how exemplary our lives we can never repay our debt to God or his son so that part of the meaning is rather clear. I also think this means that we should do good for goodness sake rather than any potential benefit we may reap from the act.

I also think there is another level of meaning and this comes back to the central idea of our debt to society. I think when it comes down to acts of kindness there cannot be a one-to-one relationship. Obviously in many cases when a person is in need of help they may never be in a position to return that help in kind. But it isn't really what we want or need when we offer help or kindness in any case.

Whenever I do something charitable, helpful, or kind, I tend to view the act as contributing to a vast fund of kindness. Many times in my life I have profited from this fund and very likely I will continue to profit from it.

One of the reasons I like this concept is that I do think of it as a sort of fund or bank. The value grows exponentially rather than incrementally just as money would do if similarly invested. We should all be grateful for this because the truth is that we usually don't pay our debt to society.

Most of us will write the occasional check, buy a ticket for some raffle, and/or spend a few hours working here and there on some pet project. There are a few who will go much further than this and spend a large portion of their time, energy, and/or money for the greater good but they are far too few.

Often whenever we face pressure on our time or finances then it is our philanthropic activities that are the first to be sacrificed. I have been all too guilty of this myself. I wonder what would happen if we reversed this and instead put helping others first rather than last?

My challenge to you this week is simply to find a way to add to our goodness fund. Borrow from the concept of "Pay It Forward". When someone offers you a helping hand then be sure to pass the favor along at the first opportunity. Don't pick and choose. Don't balance your checkbook first. Don't take the easy path. Do what is right. You will know it when you see it.

Electric guitar tabs are by far the easiest way to learn to play guitar without wasting time in too much preparation. So where are they and how do they help?

Article Body:
Tablature as a means of writing music down has been with us for hundreds of years, but many people today look down on tabs as a third rate method of musical communication. In fact, tablature is not a dumbed down version of conventional musical notation, rather what we call sheet music grew from a need for more versatility in notation as music became more complex in medieval times. Electric Guitar Tabs have been a great help to the many people who have taken up the electric guitar and who wanted to get down to the business of playing as quickly as possible.

Conventional music notation has much more to communicate than tabs, but if you already know more or less how the song sounds, and are prepared to work at your own interpretation, then there is nothing wrong with using tablature.

Guitarists composing music using tabs and sharing the results of their work on the internet have brought a wide range of music within reach of amateur musicians who never learnt to read music. To some guitarists learning to read music is a waste of time that would be put to better use expressing their feelings through music. This attitude is at odds with the idea that the more theoretical knowledge you have, the greater the pool of resources at your disposal for expressing your ideas.

Tablature, on the other hand, allows the guitarist to get to know the basic piece of music in his own way, and use his musical intuition and flair for improvisation to produce a musical work which will be as much his own work as the original composer's. For that reason electric guitar tabs are a boon to the electric guitar player who does not want to just produce a copy of someone else's work.

You can find electric guitar tabs in music stores along with conventional written music, but the quickest and best place to look for electric guitar tabs is on the internet. Even though there's a legal dogfight going on about tab publishers infringing the rights of the original composer, many tabs are still available for free. However you need to exercise your discernment when making use of tablature produced by amateur guitarists. You might need to change things around a little if they don't sound right.

As for the electric guitar player who wants to broaden his musical knowledge, tablature also allows the guitarist to learn new chords, scales or modes very quickly.

Finally a reminder that using electric guitar tabs to learn new material is not a walk in the park - you need to supply some of the information which is otherwise written into sheet music. You need to have some idea of the note values and a basic understanding of time signatures and tempo. What that boils down to is that you can hear the music in your head, and you just want to know where to put your fingers on the fret board. That is what guitar tabs were originally made for.

Dear Chronically Frustrated Entrepreneur,

If you've been going from guru to guru learning how to be the 'next big thing'; If you've been downloading ebook after ebook trying to unravel the 'secret key to the Vault of Success'; If you've been attending seminar after seminar and reading tons of books till you encounter Brainfreeze trying to decipher what makes successful people successful ... ...

You're not alone!

I've been there before and I know how frustrating it feels to spend countless sleepness nights trying to learn the path to success from the truckloads of success gurus out there. I've attended countless seminars, read countless books on success and downloaded countless ebooks that are now collecting digital dust on my hard drive. I know how you're feeling right now.

You see my friend, success isn't just about hard work. It's about working hard and working smart.

At one point in time, I was also feeling really down in the dumps as it didn't seem as if I was getting anywhere nearer to the 'promised land' of the moolah. I was pretty much at my wit's end and was constantly pulling my hair out in chronic frustration.

Then I found the missing link. I found that to become successful, you need to model a successful person. The age-old adage that 'Success breeds Success' is really true!

'Yah ... Big deal ... I already knew that'

I can literally hear lots of you having that above thought going through your head even as you're reading this.

Let me clarify what I mean. Many people, including myself in the past, thought that attending seminars and reading books on success is already modelling. But most people don't realise that you can't effectively model a successful person just by attending his seminars or reading his books! The only effective, time-tested and proven way to model a successful person is to follow him around as he conducts his day-to-day dealings and have constant, thorough access to his time, guidance and knowledge.

Sounds simple enough right? But there's just one tiny little catch ...

Most successful people charge the sky for their time, coaching and guidance. And even then, you may not get dedicated time and access to them! The high price of this coaching and guidance is often enough to make most people reconsider the investment in the guru's time.

I guess I was a little luckier in this aspect. Due to my business dealings and my sincere desire to learn from the best, I was able to network with and be directly mentored by two businessmen who are already successful in their own right.

One was a very enterprising young businessman who set up a company right from scratch in Sunny Singapore. In less than 5 years, this company grossed more than USD 60 million in sales and was able to expand to more than 10 countries across the Asia Pacific region. He plans to list his company on the Singapore Stock Exchange in 2007 and he even has his sights set on the New York Stock Exchange in 2010. He has been honoured in various countries for his contribution to the business climate and people of those countries.

My second mentor comes from an entirely different background. Currently in his mid-40s, he was already comfortably retired due to his astute business acumen and capable corporate skills. He hails from the Banking industry and at the very young age of 29, he was already the CEO of an American Bank. In his corporate career till date, he has brought no less than 36 companies to a Public Listing on various Stock Exchanges across the world. Needless to say, he was already a multi-millionaire by the time he was in his late 30s.

Being able to be directly mentored and guided by these two successful businessmen has opened my eyes to the tightly-guarded world of highly-successful businessmen. I was able to learn how they think, strategize and react to various business situations ... I was able to observe them as they went about closing business deals with ease. I was literally able to tap into their brilliant minds to learn the coveted topic of success. Even better, through my two mentors, I was able to meet and learn from other highly-successful millionaires.

My conclusion?

Nothing beats being able to learn in real-time and in the real world from highly-successful people. I finally understood the immense benefits Napolean Hill (author of the timeless success classic Think and Grow Rich) had when he interviewed 504 successful people.

From all the knowledge I've been fortunate enough to gather and learn from my two mentors and their business partners, I've distilled everything into bite-sized chunks of information and knowledge. I've taken pains to put together all these knowledge into a simple, clear and concise format that everybody will be able to understand. Best of all, where possible, I also include action steps that one can take to propel him to the next level of success.

'But Terence? Why are you doing all these? Is there a catch to it? Is all these knowledge for free?'

For thoses of you who may be wondering why I'm taking the effort to compile all these knowledge, my answer is simple. I was fortunate enough to be able to learn from highly-successful people. And all these knowledge was gained without me investing a single dollar. My mentors easily charge thousands of dollars per hour for their business consultation. I cannot but stress the value of all the information they have shared with me. I know of many out there who want to learn how to be more successful but may not have the financial means to attend seminars or invest in self-improvement books. I want to make what I term as Success Knowledge accessible to anyone and everyone who desires to make a difference in their lives. I want everyone to be able to use this knowledge to prosper and achieve their dreams. Call me idealistic but I believe the more people become successful, the better the world we live in will become.

And yes, all these knowledge will be made available for
F-R-E-E

After reading what I will be posting in the coming days and weeks, some people will cry foul at why I'm making available such jealously-guarded, ground-breaking and money-making knowledge for free. Armed with such powerful knowledge, you'll start attracting wealth like a ten ton magnet!

Don't ask me to put a price to this knowledge I'm about to share with you. There is no price to success ... And no, I don't intend to charge anything for this knowledge. I believe in making the world a better place and these articles are my contribution towards this cause.

It is my sincerest wish that everyone who reads my articles take whatever knowledge I'm about to offer and go forth to prosper. Whether you are looking to succeed in the Corporate world, in your own business or in various other industries, it doesn't matter. This knowledge will give you an extra edge over the competition.

If you find what I have to share beneficial and useful, all I ask is that you drop me an email or comment to let me know. I'd be most grateful. And if you know of a friend who can benefit from all these knowledge, do refer them to my articles and I'd be most honoured.

So sit back, relax and enjoy the ride ...

Success isn't just about the destination ... It's the journey as well.

As teenagers get older, the prospect of soon being able to drive on their own is very exciting for them. However, it can be a complete nightmare for a parent. Many teenagers start asking for a motorcycle rather than a passenger vehicle as this type approaches. Should you allow your teenager to get a motorcycle? This can be a hard decision to make and one that shouldn’t be make quickly.

There are a few advantages to allowing your teenager to have a motorcycle. For one, they will only be able to have one other passenger with them. That is if you allow it. Some parents make the rule of no passengers for the first year. That is a personal decision. Many passenger vehicle accidents occur because of the car being full of kids and that is a major distraction. They also won’t be able to hide any alcohol on a motorcycle as they can with a passenger vehicle. Having been a teenager once ourselves we know this is a likely scenario in a car.

For the most part, purchasing a used motorcycle for your teenager will be less expensive than purchasing a used car for them. The insurance can also be cheaper too in many cases. The cost of gas that they will be burning up is also going to be significantly less than will a car.

You are going to have to take an honest look at how responsible your teenager is. For those who have allowed their teenager to ride on and operate off road motorcycles for years, then the issue won’t be as large. This is because you know they are capable of handling the equipment and know how to properly operate it. If your teenager has a need for speed or is a risk taker you will need to be more cautious with this decision. You will also have the issue of how your teenager is going to get around when the weather is cold or too bad to operate a motorcycle in.

For the most part, if you agree to allow your teenager to get a motorcycle, you should be able to come to agreement on the terms and conditions of this taking place. Start with safety requirements. Is your teenager willing to wear a motorcycle helmet without fail all the time when operating the bike? Some teenagers are too concerned with their hair or looking like a dork in front of their peers to agree to this. If they won’t then the motorcycle definitely should not be considered.

Is your teenager willing to take a motorcycle safety course? If they aren’t willing to give up one weekend to be involved in such an activity, do you really want to turn them loose with such a machine? Regardless of the power behind a particular model of motorcycle, it is still a bike they will be riding with other cars on the road.

Once you have discusses the guidelines and terms of your allowing your teenager to get a motorcycle, you will have a clearer picture of what your teenager is willing to do for it. If they are willing to abide by your rules then you should trust them to make the right decisions. It is a good idea to put the agreed terms in writing as well as the consequences for breaking them. This way everyone is clear on what is expected from them regarding this decision.

It can be difficult allowing our children to grow up. The rite of passage that comes with obtaining a driver’s permit isn’t easy for most parents. Allowing them to be on their own and operate a motorcycle is a tough decision and one parents have to make all the time. As a parent, it is your responsibility to do what is in the best interest of your teenager even if they don’t agree with the decision.
